Odom, IMO, is irrelevant as he would have been there just long enough to land another HC job. Corn is a much better case of being pennywise and pound foolish. It will remain an unanswered question whether Fuente could have been the answer if properly supported or if it would have only delayed the inevitable. However, we do now know that switching, at a minimum, comes with a minimum price tag of approximately $10.8 million, an amount substantially more than it would have cost to hire at least one coordinator and fund more support and recruiting positions. Kind of like the Fram oil filter commercial, pay me now or pay me later. IMO, it is very distasteful to use scarce resources to pay somebody to go away.
